Today I participated in an event that stood out in the exciting future of competitive industries. It’s STEM-related, so to apply, you have to have six forms and take two STEM subjects. It’s competitive. They have about 60 places and hundreds of applicants from all over the UK, so I’m very grateful. Now, I will review what we have learned and what I have learned.
Initially, it was an introduction, and we had to get there 15 minutes earlier. They took over the huge building. I think the thing I like about it is socializing with people all over the UK, and that’s what we did in the first 20 minutes. We chat with each other and understand each other.
Therefore, the first conversation is called the global business. So the conversation comes from Citibank’s sales executives, mostly banks and economics. He also tells us how Citibank works every day, he starts work at 6:30 a.m., and the first thing he and his team do is check the news and learn about what’s going on in the world. Because they have to predict what impact these things may have on the industry and its customers. He said that this is the key to global business, especially in the banking sector.
There’s a great thing about the day when the Q&A meeting is held directly after a half-hour conversation, and we can all ask questions and discuss them in the direction we want. Then we talked to the representatives of Shell, Jaguar, Land Rover and Sky, and we were happy to talk to them because we could get their experience working for the current company, what they learned.
Then we have a network session. This is a conversation about the best way to get in touch with people and get most of them. Then we have an online lunch, and then there are some professionals in the room, you can go up and chat.
After that, we had a CV camp that introduced how to put resumes in and how to stand out, and we had to send them resumes. Then we have job fairs, which tell us what recruiters are looking for and the recruitment process for most big companies.
So it’s very interesting, and it makes me think about my career, my personal brand, how to sell myself in a competitive career, especially how to find a job, what to do after graduation from college, and that’s very insightful.
And then there’s a final question and answer, and then we get a good thing that there are running events, so I suggest inspiring future websites because they offer different activities for teenagers, but most of them are paid.
